Coordinator

Description
Cats Protection's volunteers carry out the majority of the charity's welfare, fundraising and education activities through a national network of over 250 volunteers groups. Each group is led by a Coordinator who provides a vital link between the group's volunteers and the charity. The Coordinator is responsible for leading and motivating the group on a day to day basis, liaising with Cats Protection staff and ensuring the group works within Cats Protection's policies and guidelines. This is a key role and will likely require a commitment of up to 10-12 hours per week. Availability on some evenings and weekends desirable.

Qualifications
The Coordinator is the driving force behind the group and needs to be organised, approachable and have the ability to communicate at all levels. Enthusiasm for Cats Protection's aims and commitment to providing a local service while adhering to central guidelines and policies is essential. The ability to motivate and encourage others, the ability to plan, delegate and to be forward thinking is important. Sound IT skills will be advantageous in this role.

Fosterers

Do you love cats? Would you like to help unwanted, homeless cats? if so fostering for Cats Protection is for you, and all it costs is your time.

Being a fosterer involves taking in cats and kittens that need to be re-homed, getting them vet checked and ready for homing. You receive full support from other members of the Branch and there is always someone to turn to for help and advice. And, of course, you make many new friends, human and feline. We provide the food and litter and all other expenses such as vet bills, travelling costs etc are paid by Cats Protection.

Cats Protection provides the cat pens for your garden, similar to those you see at boarding catteries. You can have as many or as few as you like, depending on the space available. Some of our fosterers have one or two pens; others have a run of three or more.

The East Devon Branch of Cats Protection covers a very wide area of East Devon, totalling about 400 square miles.

The post codes of areas covered include, EX5, EX8 to EX13, EX15, EX24 and DT7. We rescue and re-home cats who are strays, or who are unwanted or injured.

We particularly need new foster homes to do holiday cover for existing fosterers.

If you think this is something you would like to do please phone 01884 277438 or use the contact us form.
